Kotagala enters Cambodia to cultivate rubber

US$70 Mn Rubber Cultivation Project in Cambodia

A large scale regional transaction encompassing the sector of Agricultural Plantations was initiated in 2012. InCapita played the role of facilitating the necessary approval and investment structuring for overseas investment into rubber plantations in Cambodia by Kotagala Plantations PLC, a regional plantation company with a formidable presence in the cultivation & processing of rubber and tea.

The project involves the rubber plantation company seeking approval from the Government of Cambodia to acquire unutilized land and cultivate 20,000 hectares of rubber. The investor is a major producer of natural rubber in the country with a production of about 4 million kilograms of rubber per annum. With the plans to cultivate approximately 20,000 hectares of rubber and set up a manufacturing facility to complement the rubber plantation the company will become one of the largest producers and exporters of natural rubber in the region.
